Facility Vulnerability with VISAC |
Choose a Facility
The facilities included with VISAC are modeled to two different levels,
depending on their intended use. The two levels are basic and
detailed, which refer to the level of complexity of the logic
and geometric models.
- basic models - The geometry model consists of just floors and walls
inside each building. The logic model describes plant operations in
terms of whether or not whole buildings are damaged.
- detailed models - Individual critical components are defined in the
geometry logic models. The fault trees are more complex - showing how
the different plant systems depend on the critical components.
The user can load a facility by using the menu option Facility/Load an Existing Facility.
A list box of all the available facilities (including any created by the user) will
appear. Simply choose a facility from the list and click on "Continue".
The facilities included in the VISAC library that have been modeled at a
detailed level are:
- west560 - single 560 MWe Westinghouse 2-loop PWR
- magnox - a Magnox type gas-cooled reactor
- reprocfac - the Consolidated Fuels Reprocessing Facility
- purex - a PUREX reprocessing facility
- rbmk - a RBMK reactor facility
Plants modeled at a basic level include:
- p01 - single 950 MWe Westinghouse 4-loop PWR
- p02 - single 965 MWe Westinghouse 4-loop PWR
- p03 - twin 1100 MWe General Electric BWR Mark 1
- p04 - twin 835 MWe Combustion Engineering PWR
- p05 - single 870 MWe Combustion Engineering PWR
- p06 - 1137 MWe Westinghouse 4-loop PWR
- p07 - twin 1070 MWe Combustion Engineering PWR
- p08 - single 786 MWe Babcock and Wilcox PWR
- p09 - twin 1251 MWe Westinghouse 4-loop PWR
- p10 - twin 1117 MWe Westinghouse 4-loop PWR
- p11 - twin 772 MWe General Electric BWR Mark 1
- p12 - twin 1110 MWe General Electric BWR Mark 2
- p13 - twin 800.0 MWe Westinghouse PWR 3-loop
- p14 - single 1180.0 MWe General Electric BWR Mark 3
- p15 - twin 1040.0 MWe Westinghouse PWR 4-loop
- swest560 - single 560 MWe Westinghouse 2-loop PWR
When a facility is loaded, an expandable tree structure will be displayed in the
left panel of the VISAC window. This will show which models have been
defined for this facility and any other information, such as facility
descriptions or animations exist.
